What is PDAP?
The Police Data Accessibility Project is a community working to collect data from every U.S. police agency into a single public resource.
Our core work
We're building a small suite of tools to help our community:
1.maintain a list of Police Datasets, helping people quickly locate any public information about their local police department's activities, budget, and data.
2.code open-source Scrapers which help us create archives of publicly available data. 
3.make data extractions as easily accessible as possible.
How do we work?
We're a rotating cast of volunteers with a flat organizational structure. The core PDAP staff keep the lights on and allow our community to move the mission forward, step by step.
We're a learning organization, and we want to hear from you. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or expertise, reach out in Discord or to [email protected].

Code volunteering
Python, Django, and data architecture experts to work on the roadmap.
Python coders of any experience level to write data scrapers.
Non-code volunteering
Grant writing and non-profit operations experts to help us secure funding.
People with basic computer skills to submit and update datasets.
Donate
Donate on PayPal or Patreon, and we'll spend it on Data Bounties and infrastructure improvements. Small recurring donations are most helpful. Stability helps us chart a path.
